Insurance

This is leadership consulting for insurance professionals who are ready for more.

More visibility. More influence. More alignment between the expert you are and the way you're positioned in the market. Whether you're running an agency you want to scale, building a personal brand in the industry, or trying to figure out what your next chapter looks like — this is the work that helps you get there.

It's not about becoming someone different. It's about stepping more fully into who you already are — as a leader, as an authority, as someone whose expertise is genuinely valuable and deserves to be seen as such.

There's a gap that shows up at every stage of a career in insurance.

And honestly, in any serious business. It's the gap between being good at what you do and being recognised for what you know. I've seen it in people just starting out, still finding their feet. And I've seen it in veterans who've been in the industry for decades and still somehow feel like they're the best-kept secret in the room.

The gap isn't about talent or time served. It's about translation — knowing how to take what you've built, what you know, and what you stand for, and make it legible to the people who need to hear it. I know this gap well. I've lived on both sides of it.

WHO THIS IS FOR

You might be exactly who I'm thinking of.

This work tends to attract insurance professionals and business owners who've been in the industry long enough to know it well — and who are starting to feel the gap between where they are and where they know they're capable of going. They've built something real. They're respected by the people who know them. But their positioning, their visibility, or their sense of professional identity hasn't kept pace with their actual depth.

It also attracts agency owners who are too deep in operations to work on strategy, financial services leaders who want to build an industry platform, and commercially capable women who are ready to stop being the best-kept secret in the room.

What we actually do together.

I start by listening — to how you talk about your work, where your energy is, what you're proud of, and what's frustrating you. I'm looking for the gap between what you know and how you're currently communicating it. From there, we work on positioning, language, leadership identity, and the systems that allow you to operate at a higher level.

The work is practical and strategic in equal measure. We'll talk about your business structure, your client relationships, your market positioning, and the way you show up in industry spaces. And we'll build a plan that actually fits who you are — not a template lifted from someone else's success story.

What this looks like over time.

People who do this work describe showing up differently — in pitches, in industry events, in their own offices. They start attracting the clients and conversations they actually want, rather than chasing every opportunity that comes along. They get clearer on what they're building toward, which makes every decision easier. And often, they find that the authority they'd been waiting for permission to claim was available all along — they just needed someone to help them see it.

  • "Sam is EASILY one of the best people in our industry, hands down. Her passion — not only for the industry but also in giving back — is a perfect example of what many of us should strive for. We need more people like Sam in the industry."

EXPERIENCE

Where this comes from.

I've been in commercial P&C insurance since 2001. I've built agencies, grown books of business, navigated the specific complexity of serving women-owned businesses, and shaped industry education as a Curriculum Board Member for the California Department of Insurance. I also co-host Up2Speed, a podcast for insurance professionals. This isn't work I arrived at from the outside. It's work I arrived at because I lived every phase of it.
